Pseudomorphs. Goethite after Marcasite.
These weird looking objects were originally a metallic looking crystalline mineral called Marcasite. Through geological processes involving weathering and oxidation, they retained their original crystal shapes but were altered to a mineral called Goethite ( pronounced gertite). This process is called pseudomorphism.
