Polished Aragonite AR103

AR103  Aragonite rough rock, cut and polished on one side with a rough, natural back.

Dimensions at widest points approximately 200 mm  x 105 mm x 45  mm thick.

Weighs: 1,546 grams

Aragonite is a calcium carbonate mineral.  These specimens come from a salt lake in the Murchison region of Western Australia not far from the town of Mount Magnet.
It is believed that calcium carbonate-rich water that has drained from surrounding hills into the highly saline water occurring in the lakes has formed the mineral.
