Very rare fossil stromatolite slab , cut and polished on one side.
Interesting ripple-like undulations across the top
“Eucapsiphora leakensis”. These small branching columnar stromatolites are from the “Mount Leake Sandstone”, Earaheedy Group, Western Australia. Location is near the town of Meekatharra. Age is Palaeoproterozoic (1.6 to 2.5 billion years). The environment they grew in was most probably a sandy tidal flat or braided river channel.
Dimensions at widest points approx. 125 mm x 70 mm x 53 mm.
