BC103 Beaton's Creek auriferous (gold bearing) conglomerate slab, cut and polished on one side .

Incredibly rare !   

Pyritised pebbles !

Dimensions at widest points approx. 135 mm x 105 mm  x 13 mm thick

Weight is 376 grams.

From Nullagine in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Gold mineralisation occurs within the Beaton's Creek conglomerate.
The geological unit is the Hardey Formation with an age of approximately 2.75 billion years.
Coarse and fine gold is seemingly related to higher concentrations of pyrite within a 200 metre sequence of poorly-stratified, poorly-sorted, polymictic, pebble-to-boulder ferruginous conglomerate.
